OK – I finally hit the tipping point :) I am condensing all of my blog posts at www.cool2craft.com. Come visit me there!
Ahh……Zentangle
A few months ago, my friend Suzanne McNeill introduced me to the coolest technique called Zentangle. You’ve probably seen it but maybe didn’t know what it was called. Or you thought what’s so new about this – it’s just doodling. Let me tell you, Zentangle is much more than doodling. Did you know that it calms the mind and helps reduce stress and improve focus. This relaxing process turns drawing simple patterns into artistic design.
Zentangle was developed by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas at zentangle.com and it can be done practically anywhere plus no artistic talent is needed.
What I love about this newly released Zentangle 3 book is that I don’t consider myself an illustrator so Suzanne has written the perfect book for me – it’s all about Zentangling with rubber stamps!
You’ll definitely want to check out this new book along with Zentangle Basics, Zentangle 2 and Totally Tangled :)
Yeah Suzanne for introducing the creative world to Zentangle. You definitely have me hooked!

Terrific Texture Techniques Class

My creative friend Linda Peterson has recently launched the coolest on-line LIVE classes at CrafTECH University. What I love about this format is that you can join live and watch Linda as she demos on webcam and craft right along with her. Then if you have any questions you can ask them live by webcam, my microphone or by phone. It’s really cool!
I have a long list of classes that I plan to teach through CrafTECH University and I have one class that is available right now for purchase on-demand. As many of you know, I LOVE texture paste so I have taped a one-hour class that features all my favorite techniques with texture including spreading, stenciling, sanding, combing, marbling and painting. If you want to learn how to use texture paste in your crafting, this is the class to watch!
To purchase my Terrific Texture Techniques on-demand class, click here! I also have a sampler kit available which includes Texture Magic, two stencils and a palette knife – click here!

Yep! I’m Copic Certified!
Now I know what all the excitement is about with Copic Markers! While Julianna Hudgins and I were at the Puerto Rico Scrapbook Event a few weeks ago, we both took the Copic Certification Class where we learned all of the amazing stuff you can do with Copic Markers! Now I get to practice, practice, practice so that I can teach you what I learned about blending and shading, how to refill, what papers to use, airbrushing (yep! you can actually airbrush with these markers!) what tips to use — the list goes on and on!

I’m Inspired by Cool2Craft
I have been learning about so many cool new ideas on Cool2Craft LIVE interactive TV. There is nothing better than getting together with your favorite creative girlfriends and sharing your creative ideas. What’s so cool about the great guests who join me on Cool2Craft is that we each have an interest in a different segment of the crafting world so it’s so very cool to see the ideas shared each week. Watching Linda create adorable clay characters inspires me to try something that I wouldn’t try if I just sat down with an instruction book, Lisa shares the coolest designer tips and secrets and EcoHeidi just plain inspires me!
Just in case you missed today’s show, here is the link to watch the entire episode in the playback room or if you prefer. . . here’s the links to the demo segments that are posted on the Cool2Craft YouTube channel including how to. . . create the most adorable whimsical turtle from polymer clay by Linda Peterson, it’s recycling magic when Eco Heidi Borchers transforms a metal washer into a cool pendant, Lisa Fulmer shares the coolest techniques for creating patterns with acrylic paint and Tiffany Windsor shares this week’s Too Cool! idea – tattered floral water bottle bracelets inspired by EcoHeidi.
The coolest thing about watching Cool2Craft LIVE is that you can ask the guests questions right after their demos – LIVE in the chatroom! It’s cool!

It’s Momma Aleene Day!
First a sighting of Aleene’s Tacky Glue on Glee last night and today we received a gift for the Aleene’s Museum! Donna Brawdy of Pittsburgh, PA found these packages of original Aleene’s Wood Fibre in her old flower making supplies and sent them to me. Thank you Donna! We’ve added this photo to the Aleene Jackson Craft Musuem! If you don’t know about wood fibre, you might enjoy reading the story of how Momma Aleene started her artificial flower business – just click on the year 1954.
